A YUV file is a raw video/image format storing uncompressed YUV (luma + chroma) pixel data — widely used in video processing, broadcasting, and camera pipelines. It has no header, so resolution, pixel format (e.g., 4:2:0, 4:2:2), and bit depth must be known externally. Common variants: YUV420, YUV422, YUV444.
